2.- Research areas
- Environmental microbiology
- Antarctic microorganisms
- Extremophiles
- Heavy metal stress
- Transcriptomics
- Molecular biology
My research is focused on the effects of environmental stressors, such as metal excess and temperature oscillations, on macroalgae. Particularly, I am interested on searching for genes that are expressed in response to those abiotic stresses to determine metabolic pathways underlying the molecular protection against such adverse conditions.
